  • Game looping on startup

I purchased Deserts of Kharak on steam and when I go to play it it loops on running with the preparing dialog box appearing and disappearing. I have tried verifying local files and uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

I am running Windows 10 with a FX-4170 processor, HD 7950 graphics card, and 8 GB RAM.

    Strange...

Are all your graphics and sound drivers up to date?

Is your version of windows up to date?

    Cheers,

    Iain

Can you share a DXDiag and your output log with us?

Your log can be found on this file path: ~\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deserts of Kharak\Data\output_log.txt

        Cheers,

        Iain

Sounds like it is an issue with steam or OS if there is no output log. Something must be stopping the game from launching.

Can you post a picture of what you are seeing?

Ya it isn't launching. I have it set to run as administrator and the permission to run keeps popping up.

Are you able to post a picture or video?

Is it showing up in your processes?

                  Cheers,

Hyper from the Homeworld Community Discord server suggests looking at this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/72850...3537815286928/ and trying these solutions.

That fixed it. After I deleted the appcache folder it started up fine.
